We named this model after Matilda Joslyn Gage — a steadfast feminist who not only fought for women's rights, but was also an active voice in the abolitionist movement and the fight for equality for all. Her contributions were long overlooked, which is precisely what gave rise to the concept of the Matilda Effect — a reminder of how important it is to recognize women's role in shaping history.
By recreating this suit, we seek to honor her name and her tireless pursuit of justice.
